I started this process years ago and was immediately contacted. I was given advice and suggestions on getting approved. I followed the advice and worked hard to become financially responsible and stable. When I reached out again just to check my current position, I found out I was approved. I was anxious, nervous, and excited. The entire Veteran's Unit Team (Cole, Trenton, Gretchen, Gabby, and Nathan) helped to lessen my nervousness. Even when I doubted the process and was ready to give up, somehow, everyone pulled together and made me feel better and encouraged me to keep going because I would find my home. I'm glad I listened because I did. I can't thank the team enough for supporting me through this process.*I hope I didn't leave anyone out. Please forgive me if I did.

Buying a house while preparing for a military PCS was already stressful enough, but Melissa and her team made the whole process so much easier.One thing I really appreciated was their patience and communication. I had A LOT of questions throughout the process, and Melissa never made me feel like I was asking too much. Melissa was amazing! She had plenty of patience with us. I went through a health scare during this process over the past 9 months and she was very empathetic and understanding. She also took most of the weight off of me, so I wasn’t too overwhelmed. Karie was also a great support to her through the underwriting process at the end. I had a great overall experience with Veterans United and have recommended them to my adult children as well!The only thing I would change about Veteran’s United is that if you send a homeowner a gift that is specific to their race of being Hispanic, you should ask which “culture” they are. We all eat different foods. and speak different dialects of Spanish as well. We received tacos as our gift, which we appreciate but we are not Mexican. I am Puerto Rican, Black & Italian. My husband is black and white. So we really don’t eat tacos, honestly. So you’re screening process should be a little more thorough. None of this had to do with Melissa or Karie, they were great! I think it’s because you’re screening process says Hispanic on the application, and it was based on an assumption that we all eat the same things when we don’t. Just “food for thought”.Thank you and we appreciate you giving us this opportunity!

I applied to three places for a home loan. Veterans United was the only one that called me, texted me, emailed me, and approved me on the very same day. The other two approved me within the week, and did not follow up with me at all. I tried contacting Navy Federal on my own and it took 3 weeks to even get a contact back from them.
