I truly thought this was going to be one of the most difficult, lengthy processes I have experienced, especially as a first time homebuyer. To say the VU Team made everything as easy and seamless as possible is an understatement. From start to finish, the team walked me through every step, answered every question. They made the process so easy, I think we closed in less than a month! It went so fast and easy, it certainly feels like it was less than a month. We recently completed our mortgage with Veterans United and had an overall positive experience. Our loan officer, Brice, was communicative, professional, and pleasant to work with. He kept the process moving, advocated for better pricing, had everything ready about a week before closing, and even sent us a thoughtful housewarming gift.My only concern was that we had to present competing estimates twice before receiving their best rate and closing costs. First Meridian Mortgage offered the lowest rate, but Brice had already done most of the work and fought to improve our terms, so we stayed with Veterans United. I would recommend them, but veterans should obtain several official loan estimates beyond Navy Federal and USAA and compare rates, fees, points, and lender credits before committing. Brice’s service and rapport ultimately saved the deal.
