I never thought I’d use my veterans home loan as several real estate agents told me that lenders look down on you or refused to work with veterans due to the VA appraisal.

The best team in the world. I feel very blessed to have the most talented players working for me. Bless them all!!!

On this purchase with Veterans United, we hit some major roadblocks. If we had been in a more competitive market during peak buying season, it could very well have cost us the deal. The appraiser was absolutely ridiculous. Her report called for around $5,000 in repairs which were entirely unnecessary, weren't safety issues, and had no basis in any building codes. I completed the repairs myself so the seller wouldn't tell us to go pound sand. The underwriters were just as bad. After over two months from a signed purchase agreement to closing, they dropped the ball two days before closing telling us we needed verification of occupancy requirements for a VA IRRRL. Anyone capable of reading the VA's guidelines for IRRRLs will tell you there are no occupancy requirements. How this escaped them I do not know. Veterans United would be doing a major dis-service to a veteran buyer in a market like California where sellers hold all the cards. The housing shortage is bad enough across most of the country that the decision to go with Veterans United could cost someone the opportunity for their dream home. I hope you guys can fix these issues.

Everyone was super helpful and had a great understanding in the process

Veterans, this is the lender know you better than yourself when it comes homebuying. When in doubt, talk to VU, they are the 1st VA lender in the nation for a reason. Do your own market research, do your best estimate on your family needs and your investment plan, throw the rest to VU. I learnt that time, quality, and cost don't match very well, however, with VU team's helping, you may find the perfect balance that didn't exit on the scale you had before.

Very helpful during the process. Explain everything and the team is outstanding.

The underwriting was a bit lengthy but I think I understand that this is a process that has to be gone through my biggest frustration was trying to get the documents asked for sent back in that trying to take pictures of bank statements that came out fuzzy and having to retake them 20 times before they finally got through it was pretty frustrating but that wasn't your fault. Overall the general experience of the people I work with were absolutely exceptional and wonderful constantly reaching out to make sure we were well taken care of. Periodically sending an email or phone call to take my pulse to make sure we were happy I tell you I can't thank you guys enough for handling this.

The team was amazing and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better “first time home buying” experience.

Fantastic experience overall, the team was very responsive and extremely helpful. 10/10 would do it again. Thanks!

Starting the home buying process from overseas was a challenge! Veterans United's Chris Primmer and team were a pleasure to work with. From the first phone call, Chris answered our questions, responded quickly, and maintained contact with us through every part of the home buying process. Every team member was patient with us and fully explained every document, dollar, and prepared us for the next step. We love our new home and it was all possible with the Veterans United team!
