Would have liked a better understanding of closing, we didn't feel as informed and therefore a bit unprepared. We would have liked to have been told that we needed a cashiers check along with the amount. We also would have liked a bit more time for final walk through , we understand weather can be a factor in holding people up, but it did make things a bit tuffer. Overall we worked together and achieved a final result,,,,,we bought a house! :)))

I would not recommend Veterans United as a whole. The home buying process was way more stressful than it needed to be. Everything was fine until 5 days before closing the underwriter on my loan decided to make a stink about my income. I tried working with my current team headed Matt Lucas. And they seemed very unwilling and not understanding. They did not communicate well and made it seem like it was impossible to get my loan approved. All the while they did not communicate this with my real estate agent. After letting him know he said they they would not return his calls. We almost lost the house Becuase we busted the closing window. When I asked to have my loan switched to Nick Schuster they were very hesitant and said “Nick will have the same issue since it’s a VA loan and he also works for the same company”. Once switched it was cleared to close in 2 days. I don’t know weather he was lying, uninformed, or just didn’t want to put in the work but him and his team did a terrible job and I would not recommend Matt or Veterans United.

I'm really sorry to hear how difficult things got toward the end of your homebuying experience. Five days before closing should be a time to start getting excited—not when everything suddenly becomes uncertain. That kind of last-minute stress, especially when it feels like no one is communicating or stepping up to help, is the opposite of what we aim to provide.

It’s especially frustrating to hear that your real estate agent couldn’t get through to us either. That breakdown in communication can make an already stressful situation feel even worse. I understand why you felt like you had to push for a team change, and while I’m glad things got back on track with Nick, it shouldn’t have taken that much effort on your part.

I was completely blown away by the level of customer service. Simply astonished. I look forward to doing more business with Veterans United doing mortgages as well as insurance. Cal was so helpful and responsive any time of day or night to any and all questions we had. This was our first time buying a home and while something’s were questionable we had so much help from everyone at Veterans United. I don’t think I will ever purchase another home without using the VA. I would recommend this team to any and everyone!!

I can’t say enough good things about Veterans United and how they helped my family buy our home. We were in a tough spot—renting a house since October, only to lose our landlord in January. His sons decided to sell the property, and we were left scrambling, unsure of how to even start the process of buying it ourselves. As a veteran, I’d heard of Veterans United but didn’t know much about them. On a whim, I reached out, and from that first call, they became our lifeline.
We didn’t have a realtor or any real estate agent, which made things feel overwhelming at first. But the team at Veterans United stepped up in a way I didn’t expect. They didn’t just process our VA loan; they guided us through every single step like we were their only clients. They were patient, answering my endless questions about paperwork, timelines, and what to expect. Since we were trying to buy the home we were already living in, the situation was a bit unique, but they never made us feel like it was too complicated or out of reach.
What stood out most was how fast and straightforward they made everything. From the moment we started the process to closing, it felt like they were moving mountains behind the scenes to keep things on track. They coordinated with the seller’s side, walked us through the VA loan requirements, and made sure we understood every form we signed. Even when I got stressed about deadlines, they stayed calm and kept us focused. The whole process was done in what felt like record time, and we never felt rushed or pushed into anything.
I’m honestly not sure we could’ve pulled this off without Veterans United. Their team was there from start to finish, checking in, offering advice, and making sure we got the keys to the home we already loved. If you’re a veteran looking to buy a home—whether you’ve got a realtor or not—I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. They took a stressful situation and turned it into one of the proudest moments of our lives.

Listen. If you are serious about owning a home, Veterans United is definitely a preferred option, in my opinion. The steps it took to purchasing our home was frustrating to say the least. In my wife and I case, we were purchasing from our landlord, so a realtor wasn't necessary. However, gathering the necessary documents, coordinating with the different agencies like appraisals, home inspections, insurance, title company, and loads of paperwork, signatures, and questions are still very much a part of the process. Our team, Nick Holman, Courtney Gully, Francie Greene, and the rest of their supporting members were there from the first phone until the closing on our home. They fielded every question, listened to all of our frustration, guided us through the whole process step by step, and we're encouraging, patient, professional, and, most of all, very polite, friendly, and engaging whenever we were in contact with them. I mean they kept in touch by phone, text, and email. Even sent us mail. Who does that in this technology age? Seriously, they were the best team my wife and I could ask for in communicating with us and our landlord to make this dream a reality!! I highly recommend Veterans United to anyone who’s reading this review, or anyone who asks is this company for real. To our team, Nick Holman, Courney Gully, Francie Greene, and their supporting team members, thank you for everything! We can't say thank you enough. My wife, Valencia Long, and I now own our home!!!
